Catalogue notes
Honda Heihachirō coming to the rescue of Tokugawa Ieyasu during the battle at Magome. The posthumous name given here, Yasukuni (安國), meaning 'peaceful country', is not Ieyasu's normal one (Tōshō Daigongen, 東照大権現, "Great Buddha, Light of the East"). It is no doubt a tribute to his legacy. Reprinted as #538.
